1. Preparation

Ensure your resin surface is fully cured and free of any "amine blush" (oily film) or dust. If the surface is very glossy, you can lightly wipe it with isopropyl alcohol to ensure the ink grips perfectly.

2. Prime the Marker

Shake the marker well with the cap on to mix the metallic pigments. On a scrap piece of paper, gently press the nib down repeatedly until you see the ink flow into the tip. Do not prime the marker directly on your artwork to avoid unexpected drips.

3. Adding Details (Geode & Marble)

• Geode Rims: Run the marker along the outer edges of your resin coasters or geode wall art to create a "gilded" frame.

• Veining: Draw thin, shaky lines to simulate natural stone veins. For a softer look, you can lightly dab the wet ink with a sponge.

4. Correcting Mistakes

If you make a mistake, you can easily wipe the wet ink away using a cotton swab dipped in a tiny amount of rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits without damaging the cured resin underneath.

5. The Final Seal (The "Flood Coat")

Wait at least 12–24 hours for the marker ink to dry completely. Once dry, you can pour a clear layer of epoxy resin over the top. The resin will seal the metallic ink, giving it a 3D "under-glass" effect and protecting it from scratches.

Quick Tips for Best Results:

• Store Horizontally: Keep your markers lying flat when not in use to prevent the nib from drying out or becoming flooded with pigment.

• Avoid Heat Guns: Do not use a torch or heat gun directly on the ink while it is wet, as it is flammable and may dull the metallic shine.
